House Keys
Not ours.
We moved into our house three-plus years ago knowing nobody in Nashville.
Yesterday, we sold our home. When I opened the junk drawer in the now-not-ours kitchen and saw five sets of keys that open the front doors to our friend’s homes, it hit me. Returning those to their owners will be one of the last things I do before we leave, and one of the saddest.
We went all in here, and the ROI has been lots of laughs, enjoyable meals around dinner tables, and hikes around town as strangers became friends.
As much as we’ve loved our home, we treasure those relationships the most.
