Last leg and arrival!

Well they didn’t make it easy I’ll tell you that. The last 10.3 miles into Bath had some pretty serious uphills prompting comments and mutterings from both of us that wouldn’t go into a sales brochure.

That said, arrive we did and it was a great feeling of accomplishment and teamwork.

Our last hiking day started with a hearty breakfast from our host Jonathan. He was so gracious and loved to talk about UK, American music and movies, Scotland, you name it. He previewed our walk into Bath and was spot on.

A famous battlefield from the 17th century English civil war, a horse race track, beautiful vistas of Bath, and a beautiful park in Bath were all along our arrival trail.

So, 110.5 miles later we are here. A little foot sore and achy but nothing some world-renowned hot mineral baths and spa treatments can’t handle.

John’s beautiful home with garden.

The famous Landsdown battlefield

Joe and Jan from Iowa (they were coming up from the south to north direction and head early morning rain).

A “kissing gate”

A little pitch and putt / foot golf course. Seriously. A little course you can kick a soccer ball up to a green and sink into a hole.

Entering Bath … the magnificent Royal Crescent Hotel. More photos tomorrow.

Finally … the Bath Abbey in sight!

Victory!!
