UK - Day 1 (bg)
Excited to be at rest in our fabulous Bed and Breakfast - Badgers Hall - smack dab in the middle of Chipping Campden - our launching point.
The flights over were not nearly as restful as our recollection from last year to Lisbon and we arrived in a rather weary state. Blessedly, our hosts Paul and Karen had our lovely room ready and waiting for us despite our early 12 noon arrival. The king size bed in our room beckoned. We awoke 2.5 hours later and made sure we got some steps in to somewhat normalize our bio clocks. Later tonight is long planned dinner at highly regarded Michael’s- directly across the street - then hoping for a full night’s sleep to begin our Cotswold Way journey to Bath.
And yes there was a talking with stranger’s moment. As we explored this afternoon we passed a small museum of the area which had just closed at 4p, according to a friendly women in front - who happened to be a museum docent and had just done the closing. Of course what followed was a great chit chat about the region, some buildings, the increasing number of Americans who have come to walk the Cotswolds and more.

The white sign in center of the pic is the sign for the Badgers Halls. Smack dab in middle of town. Our bedroom is literally the first set of windows on the second floor.
Our soooooo lovely room was ready for our early arrival. Zzzzzzzzz
Not every stranger talks back…
The official starting point (or end if one starts in Bath) for tomorrow’s journey.
